This folder contains 190 articles featuring Loughborough Beacon Rotary - sometimes loosely - and illustrates the many activities and projects that the club has carried out since 2001. The aim has been to 'drip-feed' the ethos and work of Rotary to readers of the Loughborough Echo to create an awareness of our organisation and what we do for the local community and for the wider world.

LOUGBOROUGH ECHO WEDNESDAY JULY 6, 2016
Rotary Honour for Rosemary Adams The Rotary Club of Loughborough Beacon has awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship to former president Rosemary Adams. The prestigious award recognises Rosemary’s huge contribution to Rotary and to the wider community. She was the Club’s first lady President in 2008-2009, and has recently served as Almoner, liaising with Club members who find themselves in difficult personal circumstances. She has also led the Youth Services team and worked with local schools to recognise promising pupils as ‘Rotary Stars’. Her main project last year was to work with Burton on the Wolds Primary School and Parish Council, LaFarge Tarmac UK, and the Playing Fields Association to install and dedicate a memorial stone to ‘all those affected by conflict’. Presenting the award, outgoing Beacon President Sue Easton said: “Rosemary exemplifies the Rotary motto of Service above Self. She has served the Club in so many ways, so this award is really well deserved.” Beacon Rotary President Sue Easton (right) presenting a Paul Harris Fellow award to Rosemary Adams. This is another example of lazy reporting by a staff photographer, giving the 'other club' credit for our initiative, and not recognising Rosemary Adams as the president of the Rotary Club of Loughborough Beacon.
