Home Starter Boxes
"This is a great project - it should be rolled out across the whole country."
Steve Meadwell, Exaireo "I commend this initiative."
Lord Willy Bach |
Home Starter Boxes are given free - via local charities - to people who are being rehoused from difficult circumstances. The boxes provide crockery, cutlery, pans, an electric kettle, cleaning kit, etc to get people started in their new home.
They are a joint initiative by Loughborough Beacon Rotary Club, Loughborough Rotary Club, and the Inner Wheel Club of Loughborough. If you are a local charity that rehouses people... ...then please get in touch (see below). We can then see if we are able to help you. If you are a potential supporter... ...we'd love to hear from you (see below). We are always looking for community-minded people and organisations who can help us fill our boxes. If you'd like to run your own scheme... ...then we're very happy to share our experience with you. |
We're grateful to our supporters:
Bonkers ~ Clockwise Credit Union ~ East Midlands Airport ~ Helen Jean Cope Trust ~ Loughborough University ~ TESCO
Our recipients say:
- I had absolutely nothing
- I'm over the moon!
- All good useful stuff.
- Brilliant. Far more than I could have expected.
